Player of the Year Points System:
We have a Player of the Year Points Contest for each of our (5) Age Groups. Players are invited to our AJGO Annual Championship Tournament based on their standing in the Player of the Year Points Contest. For each Age Group, the Top-3 Players in Player of the Year Points Contest will recognized at our AJGO Championship Awards Ceremony and receive a plaque and a special golf related item in recognition of their achievement.

How the Points System works:
Points eanred in tournaments are accumulated and added together and then divides by the number of events played. A player that earned a total of 200 points in two events would have 100 points in the Standings.

We Average Points by using a "Minimum Events Divisor" and a "Maximum Events Divisor."

Our Minimum Events Divisor is: 8 (tournaments)
The Minimum Events Divisor is used to calculate the Average Points used in the Standings if the actual number of events played is less than the Minimum Events Divisor. For example, if the Minimum Events Divisor is 8 and an individual played in just one event and earned 200 points, then the Average Points would be 25 (200/8).

The purpose of the Minimum Events Divisor is to prevent an individual from appearing at the top of an Average Points based Standings when they have only played in a couple of events.

Maximum Events Divisor is: 16 (tournaments)
The "Maximum Events Divisor" caps the number of events used to calculate the Average Points. For example, if the Maximum Events Divisor is 16, the Average Points for a player that accumulated a total of 2,100 points in 20 events is 131.25 (2,100 / 16). The purpose of the Maximum Events Divisor is to weight the Standings in favor of the players that participate in more events. A player that accumulated 2,400 points in 10 events will appear in the Standings with 200 points while a player that accumulated 2,100 points in 20 events will appear higher in the Standings with 210 points.
