PACE OF PLAY

Pace of Play - Allotted Time
Groups will be required to play at no more than the allotted time - which is, on average, 14-minutes per hole. On all of the player scorecards, the Pace-of-Play time intervals are listed based on their start time. For example, if the player's scorecard indicated a Pace of Play Time of 11:24 a.m. for Hole #8 - that means that the Pairing should have completed the 8th hole by 11:24 a.m.

You are expected to play any stroke within 40 seconds.

Each Group should complete their 18-hole round in not more than 4-hours and 20-minutes.

Definition of “Out of Position”
A Pairing will be considered out of position if, at any time during the round, the group is behind their allotted time. Or if the Group is more than 1-hole behind the Group in from of them.

Group Notification
Groups MAY BE NOTIFIED when they are out of position and given an opportunity to regain their position. If a ruling or some other legitimate delay occurs which causes the group in question to lose its position, that group is expected to regain its position in a reasonable time [within two holes]. If a group fails to regain their position, they will be notified and subject to being timed.

NOTE: The Tournament Committee reserves the right, at any time, to time a group when the Tournament Committee deems it necessary. Players should also be aware that the Tournament Committee may assess a “Slow Play” to a player in a group which is out of position if the player makes no effort to help his or her group get back in position. An example of this would be a player who unduly delays play between shots.

Pace of Play Penalties
The following are the penalties, in sequence, for any player in a group out of position who takes more than 40 seconds to play a stroke when it is his or her turn to play.
• First notification of "Slow Play": warning
• Second notification of "Slow Play": one penalty stroke
• Third notification of "Slow Play": two penalty strokes

READY GOLF
Tournament Golf is different from a casual round of recreational golf. During Tournaments we play "Ready Golf"

Ready Golf means THINKING AHEAD so that you're READY TO PLAY when it is YOUR TURN.

You are expected to play any stroke within 40 seconds.

Ready Golf applies EVERYWHERE on the golf course --
on the tees, on the fairways and on the greens.

On The Tee
Ready Golf means that the player with the honors should be READY to HIT FIRST. If the player with the honors isn't ready, then someone else should hit first.

On The Fairway
Ready Golf means that ALL golfers should go to their balls as soon as possible and get READY to play their shots. While waiting to hit, PLAYERS should SURVEY their shot, SELECT their clubs, TAKE them from their bags, and STAND at their balls READY to step up and make the shot when it is their turn. You are expected to play any stroke within 40 seconds.

Speeding Play On The Greens
Playing Ready Golf around the Greens means getting READY to putt BEFORE it is your turn. Players should line up their putts WHILE other players are putting, so they're ready to putt when it's their turn.

Farthest From The Hole
In Ready Golf, the person farthest from the hole should be READY to play first.

See our Ready Golf page for more detailed instructions.
