Players are eligible to play the Alabama Junior Golf Association, if they have not yet graduated from high school and are 8-19 years of age OR if they have not yet reached their 19th birthday and are not currently enrolled in college. Players in the AJGO play in the division for their current age. So a player who is 15, may play the Boys 14-15 division until his 16th birthday. At that time, he will be moved to the Boys 16-19 division.
Players may elect to "play up" an Age Division in order to play longer yardages. For example, a 13-year old may decide that he wants to play from the same yardage as the Boys 14-15 Age Group. This is allowed, however, once you move up an Age Group you can not move back to the Age Group you were previously playing.
